DQ has a pretty sweet story by Japanese standards. That may not be saying that much as far as JRPG's go. But surely WKC fans weren't unrealistic enough to think WKC was going to have a story of such high quality as Mass Effect or Oblivion?
Hope for the best of the JRPG's (Lost Odyssey, FFX etc), not the best of the RPG's storywise. |
Oh man. I couldn't disagree more!
I find WRPG to be pretty terrible. Especially Oblivion!!! Mass Effect's story was something that was talking up in the game. I'd take a JRPG ANY day to a WRPG, where they destroy a WRPG's story.
Take your one-sided opinion away and see mine. I can do it too.

I'm with Outlaw on this one. Anyone who thinks that Oblivion is even the best of WRPG stories needs help. Atleast be like Shio and list the best of the best WRPG's storywise.
And like Outlaw, I prefer JRPG's over WRPG's. Although I don't particularly like the DQ stories I've played, I think like others that they were simply using a well-known RPG to make their case.

Personally I LOATHED Oblivion, but I'm smart enough to realise it's a high-quality WRPG for the masses.
I guess it pretty much comes down to opinion I suppose.
