PC online is annoying, but much less annoying than console gaming.
Your average console gamer is inexperienced and obnoxious. A lot of the stuff that they think is new and impressive (ie: Halo 2 or Halo 3 16 player online matches) PC gamers have seen a decade ago. As far as online games go, PC gamers are running better games, more interesting games and are generally better at communicating.
But, hey, you're comparing console toys that have just been introduced to the internet to machines that are much more powerful. What do you expect the answer to be?
Xbox Live is particularly shitty as far as community goes.
