So how DO you make a profitable game for PSP?

“The recipe for success on the PSP resides simply in providing franchise games that are strong brand names like on consoles, but have unique gameplay on the system,” Koller insisted. “You cannot have ports. We used God of War: Chains of Olympus this year as an example of that, as well as Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, and Midnight Club, which is going to be launching in the next few weeks. Those three games are titles that have very strong brand names on console but are coming over with unique gameplay on the PSP.”

I'm confused. Even being the great game that it was, what made God of War: Chains of Olympus any more unique in gameplay than the PS2 GOW games? I suppose the same would apply for Midnight Club too, but I haven't played it to know for sure.

IMO he means the exclusivity and not the fact that there are entirely new games... and lets admit it, you dont need a new genre to boost sales, because CC and CoO managed to do that pretty damn well ;)

I don't see how his comment "unique gameplay on the system" translates to exclusivity, but I suppose that would be a fun way to spin the comment to put it in comparison with the DS.
