holy crapcow. I cannot believe that the doc didn't get consent first. That is way too drastic of a decision to make without consent. At least from the wife, I assume she was awake and present during the surgery.
Final thought, why was he asleep in the first place? That should have been a local anesthesia surgery. My vasectomy was and it is probably more invasive than a circumcision.
