History has shown that delayed ports just down sell as well as simultaneous ports. That is besides the point however. Usually it takes FF games anywhere from 5 to 9 months to come from Japan to the US and even longer or PAL regions. PAL FF titles hit nearly a year after the Japanese launch. Final Fantasy XII took 7 months to get from Japan to the US and 11 months to hit PAL territories. FFX it was 5 months for the NA verison and 10 months for the PAL version. FFX-2 took 8 months to hit the US and 11 months to hit PAL territories. FFXIII was going to hit the West 7 to 11 months later minimum based on the last two major games in the series. Why are PS3 owners in the West suddenly acting like the Final Fantasy games get a simultaneous worldwide release? You are going to get FFXIII at the same time as you would have anyway. I think it simply a faux controversy spun from the disappointment that the game is no longer PS3 exclusive. |
^ Everyone read this post. Then read it again. The only Final Fantasy game that had a simultaneous worldwide release was Final Fantasy 7. If this game is released simultaneously in NA and PAL regions, we can all expect a year delay; regardless of the XBox 360 port. Final Fantasy games have always taken a long time to localize. Stop pretending there's a Boogy Man and ignoring this reality. Most of you "Final Fantasy fans" should know better.
As for the OP, I read nowhere in the actual scan where it states that the PS3 version will be released before the 360 version. It only states that the PS3 version will not be delayed because of the 360 port. I think this fits nicely in with the logical fact that localization will be done at the same time as the 360 version is being developed, don't you?
