Yojimbo said: Gamingdevil: Nintendo and Sony have shipped 6m units till 31march 2007. The big question is how Sony can produce that much? Saying that psp is not selling is a bad excuse, Sony produce other electronics not just "playstation". So I agree with your first argument that Sony is bigger. But i think it still wierd because that PS3 is harder to produce and Sony was 1 million consoles behind shipped in december.
Correction... Nintendo has shipped and sold over 6 million, PS3 has shipped maybe 4m to NA/Japan and 1m to EU. However, barely sold a little over half to NA/Japan and will probably do the same in EU. Like, 400,000 to a max of 600,000 in the launch week. As I mentioned in a different thread, March will be the only month that PS3 outsells Wii in EU, but not Worldwide. This is bad news for Sony, I would expect a sell out in the first week if there was to be considered a high in demand system. But, guarantee that there will be plenty of PS3 sitting on shelves from day one. All the while the Wii's will still be sold out.
