i dont want any 5 on 5 matches on my connection.

we will have to wait to see per-attach how the sales go.

both will be good games but resistance 2 looks the better.

overall due to a temporary sales lead, gears 2 should sell more copies, but the features in resistance 2 are far better, and is a true sequel.

And Gears 2 isn't because..?

The original GoW is very good by itself, and there isn't much to improve... you can give more of what you gave in the original+extras.

R2, on the other hand, improves every aspect that was lax in the original - the main character, graphics, online play, single player campaign...

That's how I see it.

Maybe you haven't been paying attention but Gears2 is improving all of those things as well.

Main character - more focus on Dom and his story background.  I like this approach because he seemed more human-like and not meat-head like than Fenix was.  Also a slew of new supporting characters.

Single player campaign - Better story focus...they hired a book author to help with story devlopment.  More weapons, new cover mechanics (including movable shields, player shields), new enemies.  New vehicles are rumored as well (ala Brumak)

Graphics - Have you seen any of the comparison videos they put out with things they were adding to the game.  Looks to be a very nice improvment in destructible environment, textures, lighting, effects, framerate, size of battlefields, and sheer number of enemies on screen.

Online play - hoard mode, 5vs5, lobby system, stat tracking, and just overall flushing out of the online experience.  The guys at Epic stated themselves they were surprised at how popular Gears1 MP was because it was essentially a tacked on experience.  They've been beta testing this in-house since at least April of this year and it should be much improved.  I know because I have a friend involved in it.

OT: Gametrailers has tons of HD feeds up now.  Even so I don't see how any crow will be served because even in HD it's still a horribly compressed flash feed.  The same can be said for Gears2 because most of that footage has been from E3 or shortly after.

I'm getting them both. Anybody who's played the two originals can attest that they are totally different experiences so these comparisons are kind of fruitless if you ask me.
