This reminds me heavily of my own thoughts on this issue.

I know how much time you all spend trying to convince the forums that your chosen console manufacturer has won, so to help you in your mission I have done this. Simply delete as applicable and post to the relevant forum. Good luck!
It wasn't obvious until now, but Nintendo / Microsoft / Sony has won. Hardware unit sales for the Wii and DS / Xbox 360 / PS3 and PSP this Christmas were phenomenal (bar nothing / Japan / Nintendo's success). Several smash-hit first-party / third-party / PS3-exclusive games have boosted Wii / Xbox 360 / PS3 software sales too. Nintendo's / Microsoft's / Sony's objective of bringing fun gaming to a large audience / eliminating Sony as a threat / having an multimedia centre in every living room has paid off, and sales will only rise in the future because of the Wii / Live / PlayStation brandname.
Looking forward to 2008, big titles like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii / Unreal Tournament 3, Fable 2 and Grand Theft Auto IV / Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4 and LittleBigPlanet along with price cuts will increase demand. Once supply / hardware failure / manufacturing cost issues are resolved, there will be nothing to stop Wii / Xbox 360 / PS3 sales. Since non-games / downloadable games / Blu-ray Discs have taken off, Nintendo / Microsoft / Sony will also generate significant revenue from their new franchises' / Xbox Live Marketplace / BD sales and become more profitable soon. At the rate the Wii / Xbox 360 / PS3 is selling, it will overtake Xbox 360 NA / worldwide Gamecube / Xbox 360 Others sales in 2008. It seems third-party support / a free online service / backwards compatibility isn't that important to make successful consoles.
