IMO, the right thing for the US to do is to put up broadcast towers on the border and hand airtime to any "hate-filled" broadcaster who wants the right to voice their opinions to Canadian citizens. I think Canadian free speech laws are horribly wrong.
You wouldn't like that much, would you?
Respect for sovereignty is a two-way street. You can't go mucking about with your allies' citizens. That's a bit holier-than-thou, don't you think?
