Another one of them lists i like making :D well this time, inspired by my completion of Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, will be a list consisting of characters that have endeared themselves to me just basically because they're funny, entertaining, outlandish, and are a relief to see on screen.

Here are my top 10 most likeable characters:

10. Sackboy (Littlebigplanet) - I know he ain't out yet, but come on... can you find another mascot for irresistible? He just overflows with cuteness.

9. Goro (Mortal Kombat) - There is an inside joke going around with me and my buddies about having four arms; imagine, you can have your hands on the keyboard, mouse, a beer, and *something else* at the same time! :D

8. Crash Bandicoot (Crash Bandicoot :P) - Basically, all his assets are in his face; he just looks ridiculous. He looks like a cross between a tasmanian devil and a cute wittle kitty. What looks even more ridiculous is that spin thing he does. All in all, yeah, he's just funny to look at. And that's a good thing.

7. E. Honda (Street Fighter) - I know of no other 500 pound guy with six abs, can fly through the air, and chop stuff at 1000 strokes a minute. This sumo wrestler packs a lot more than the diaper.. don't let it fool you!

6. Lyon (Suikoden 5) - She followed the Prince everywhere and made the hero (or the player) feel like he wasn't alone in the whole adventure. Her presence made the lonely world seem a lot more interesting because her feedback was always there. In those parts where she would be absent from the Prince's side, it felt noticeably different. Basically, she was the perfect sidekick you couldn't do without.

5. Luigi (Mario series) - Simply put, Luigi > Mario. Green > Red. Tall > Fat. I would hire this plumber over the fat one any day of the week because my fridge would always be in danger with Mario around. Well actually, its his high voice that endears him to me. He sounds like a squeakish schoolboy.

4. Rikku (Final Fantasy 10) - The cute teen girl who you couldn't refuse because of that cute pouty voice, energetic mannerisms, curvy midsection... well you get the picture. She would frequently throw those little tantrums and make that look that you couldn't help but pay attention to... basically she's on this list because she's sassy... (yea..)

3. Cornelio (Suikoden 5) - MEDIOCRITY! Suikoden 5 was full of these interesting characters, but none were as outlandish as the porkish conductor. Being called a mediocrity brings me to a mixture of resentment, humor, and motivation, especially since it's coming from some dude who is looking for DoReMi elves... He basically reminds me of my old high school music teacher who was so in love with his craft, yet no one else seemed interested about it.

2. Captain Quark (Ratchet and Clank) - The inspiration for this list. Every time this guy popped on the screen, I was left with a feeling of mixed pity and awe (which are totally opposite things). He's got that pretend great person thing going, and at the same time he knows it. He's like a clown who claims he's not a clown but an action hero, yet underneath all that he knows he's a clown. So yeah...

1. Cid Highwind (Final Fantasy 7) - Every time he swears just makes me giggle for some reason. I think its because he swears for no real reason most of the time. He reminds me of my old philosophy professor who is disgruntled about the world, brilliant yet unassuming; smokes, drinks, swears, uncompromising, and overbearing. He just feels like a mix of Han Solo and Snake (from Escape from L.A.). It also seems that he's the most useful member of the party because of his airship... kinda makes me treat him like the grumpy handyman. :D
