Sonic Xtreme is filled with so much BS I dont even want to get into it. Project S is a joke and Cris Senn is an ass, thats all I'm gonna say.

Hey now, Xtreme was a pretty awesome project, and Chris Senn is a cool person, quite friendly, likes chatting about Xtreme stuff now and then.

About a year and a half ago a Sonic Xtreme prototype surfaced for auction on Assemblergames.com. Chris Senn caught wind of this and threw a shit fit, claiming that the game was "his" and couldn't be released, dispite the fact that he was only one member of a team of many, and the code being Sega property and all. He threw around all sorts of legal threats and got some of his sega fans to start spamming assemblergames until some dumb kid tried a DDOS attack.

In July the prototype was finally released as an Assemblergames community release. Basically, member of the forum pooled money together to purchase it and publicly distribute it.(~$3000US, BTW) All of this was inspite of Senn's earlier attempts to prevent release, although tons of bullshit was thrown around by both sides back then.

Basically, Xtreme=drama

However, I really dont see the point of Project X. We already have a very early proto of the game, and things should be focused on getting the later, much more complete PC version of Xtreme from 1996. Instead, people want to purse a fangame that will be fairly different than what the game was going to be and likely no better than most romhacks. Still, I think the real Xtreme looks like it would have been rubbish, with the development hell of the title and some of the arguably stupid gameplay decisions.

And I have no clue what Alex is talking about with regards to Sonic being like mario galaxy with the gravity. Maybe he doesn't realize its a fish eye camera? And he gripes about how stupid Sonci stories are now? Obviously he's never read what was planned for Xtreme...
