Let's clarify something here. SONY referred to the Toy Story comment in regards to FMV in Onimusha (which actually happened), NOT gameplay. Microsoft (Gates) were the ones who claimed that the original Xbox was capable of Toy Story graphics (which DIDN'T happen). This Toy Story fiasco was severly taken out of context by both media and fanboys alike. In actually, both PS2 and Xbox has the processing power to produce non-FMV Toy Story Graphics, but in regards to gameplay, it was too taxing on the hardware to sustain that quality of the visuals. So for those who though SONY lied in regards to Toy Story graphics, please think again. Microsoft were the ones who lied. |

Levy explains that the secret is the Emotion Engine, a fast, high-powered
chip set that is fine-tuned to generate the polygons that are the building
blocks of 3-D graphics. PlayStation 1 could handle 360,000 polygons per
second. Version 2 can handle 20 million, a jump from "South Park" to "Toy
Story." "It's historic, a mass-market appliance that fundamentally changes
society in the way the printing press did," Trip Hawkins, founder of
Electronic Arts and CEO of 3DO, tells Newsweek. "This is a new canvas for
humanity that takes us back to our nature."
