Trading in a console is a silly move. Game stores give you next to nothing for trading in games and consoles. Remember game stores have businesses to run and they make a lot of money from people trading in games and consoles which their parents spent lots of money on.
On the other hand buying second hand games is a good thing you get a bargain.
I hope you have fun with your new PS3 console.
BTW: How many games with your X360 did you have to trade in?
