Thats not harsh
My school in Texas was far worst.
They suspended you for been late to class more than 5 times. Bringing an electronic was far worst. They suspended you, called your parents(Highschool).They made you write an essay about why you'll never bring back an electronic to school. To top that off when they took custody of it you'd have to pay them 15 dollars to get it back, or your parents would have to come and pay 10 dollars.
I hated that school.
Your punishment wasn't as bad as you think. Though you actually like it, but you should know its not good for your reputation.
