I wouldn't expect them to annouce the new Playstation before a year before it's release or some such. All companies I presume are working on their next gen machine but with Sony, i think it'll just be an upgrade. Stick with the PSN, Sixasix/Dualshock, stick with Blu-ray just up the capacity to 200GB limit and read speed up a bit, a new upgraded Cell and nice wack of RAM and job done. No new technology that costs loads, they could even feature full PS1 and PS2 BC by then as software based BC probably.
Oh and this 10 year plan thing, PS2 is still going after 8. Yet the PS3 is out. So I expect when they talk about a 10 year plan they just mean the life of the PS3 not when they are going to release the PS4.
