"if games that take 1-4 years to develop are effectively stolen the day they launch, developers and publishers will simply stop investing in PC games"
How crass! The man is audacious enough to openly admit that despite it implying that they know the DRM doesn't do squat for long? They are basically saying that they don't care about the majority of their buyers so long as the people who must have it day one don't have the option of downloading it, as if a pirate cares that he or she has to wait a few days.
Heck, their DRM has caused legitimate buyers to pirate EA's products in the past because the DRM was (is?) actually more effective at keeping legitimate buyers from playing their game than pirates. Yet, despite that, this man will actually tell these customers that it's more important to keep the game away from pirates for a few days than make their customers happy.
You do not have the right to never be offended.
