Actually, there's a lot to the "hourglass" theory. In a male-dominated world, the hourglass is reminiscent of the female figure. Men like sex. Curves are also naturally appealing to the eyes so the effect is compounded. Then you have the high heel effect, which accentuates a woman's ass, legs, and feet. It makes sense when you think about it.
I'd like to take this moment to thank my first life drawing teacher. That bitch talked about some wacky shit. Bet she was crazy in bed, too.
