KotOR II was a victim of Lucasarts' greed. The game was rushed. The developer had 10 months from concept to product release to do the game. The started the game in February and it released in December. For a game of KotOR II's scope that isn't much time and I actually appreciated how well Obsidian did with the game considering the ridiculous time constraints. They had to cut so much content from the game that they wanted to include because Lucasarts wanted the game out by Christmas. I am still pissed about not having my HK-47 side mission. |
Once you looked past how KotOR2's plot was unfinished and mostly ripped from KotOR1 and how several characters were carbon copies of previous characters, it was a great game. At least they kept the great stuff like HK-47 (who has more personality than the entire casts of the last several FF games put together).
