The odd thing is that everyone mentions the Nuclear attack as being so awful, when it isn't even the worst thing the Americans did in the Japaneese campaign; the Tokyo Firebombing killed and wounded far more people, and resulted in far higher damages.
At the same time, no one ever seems to consider how Japan (a fairly undeveloped country that was destroyed by war) ended up becomming one of the wealthiest and most advanced countries in the world. If it wasn't for the United States rebuilding Japan after world war two, and heavily investing in to their ecconomy for decades, it is unlikely that Japan would be the country it is today; many people have argued that the reason for this focus was guilt because of the destruction Americans caused durring the war.
