We can argue whether the war is pointless another time (personally, I believe that it was never justified but that the people of Iraq will be far better off as a result) but poor people are certainly not being negatively impacted because of the war. People made a decision to join the military because it offered opportunities far better than the ones they had outside of the military, and as a result they have received far more education and training (as well as a far higher wage); at the same time they knew joining the military had the risk of them going off to war and dying. You can no more say that the poor are being "Fucked" by the war than you can say that Countrywide financial is being "Fucked" by the sub-prime fallout; they took on a risk and are now facing the consequence of that risk.
