For those expecting DQX announcement for PS3, they are not the one that have the ability to decide the platform of a new Dragon Quest game, it's Square Enix's game, Square Enix decides what platform should the game be on, and what company should develop the game. For these reasons, Square Enix will most likely be the one to announce DQX, not Level-5.
As for new IP, Akihiro Hino himself stated that they have an original IP, so it's is possible, but why would this be shocking? I don't know.
They never said "Wait for shocking announcements for PS3", so it might be a Wii game, a DS game, or maybe recreating True Fantasy Live Online or announcing a new MMO game..
Again, the shocking might have nothing to do with PS3, and it is kinda impossible for Sony to buy them at such time, they have Professor Layton and The Last Time Travel for DS in development and Square Enix's Dragon Quest IX for NDS, also they have a new Inazuma Eleven game in development for a console, which the platform is not yet known.
Dark Cloud 3 announcement would not be good, business wise, they should rather hype WKC before announcing such game.
In my opinion, the announcement will either be a new RPG game to coincide with Level-5's 10th anniversary this year, or something big related to PSP.
