Something that has long amused me is how often some hardcore players are vocal about not wanting to play "kiddie games" (or the inverse are determined they have to play adult games). What they don't seem to get is that most of us out grow the facisnation with "grown up" things soon after we become grown ups.

 

Or maybe those "hardcore players" just don't like those kiddie games. Way you say that makes me think that you think it is immature not to like for example pokemon or my horsez.

 

 

Its not the game preferences I'm critisizing, its going on message boards and exclaiming that all games they like are mature and all games they don't are kiddy.

And yes, I think doing that is immature. Children have a natural tendacy to choose activities they think will make them seem grown up. For most people this goes away when they actually do grow up.

In the end its all about motivation, and communication. Someone who is immature says "I prefer GTA4 to Mario Galaxy because Mario is for kiddies and I want my games to be mature"; a mature person would have said "I like sandbox games or shooters but not platformers".
