Do you think an I phone that has hardware as powerful as a Dreamcast with wi fi, GPS, and touch screen and as small as it is would retail for $199 initially? They launched it at $599 and $699 and that was the right price, they are just trying to buy marketshare now. |
Apple doesn't sell the iPhone at a loss. AT&T does. They also make that money back with the 2 year contracts they make their customers sign. If Apple were to enter the console business (again) they would do so gradually, like how they are entereing the handheld gaming market.
I don't know about Sony, but if Apple did enter the home console market, you can be sure that MS would throw more funding towards the XBox than that of most armies. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if there was an MS led "Coalition of the Willing" formed between Sony and Microsoft ;).
