Sony went from nothing to 1st with the original Playstation over the dominate Nintendo and stiff Sega competition. If Apple had a novel, inticing product and reads the market correctly they can enter easily without lossing money. |
Sony went from getting a bunch of R&D and launch ideas from Nintendo to first. They also hired Ken Kutargi from Nintendo after the SNES CD plans fell through. Sure they were never on the market but they went full steam after they had a few coals stuffed in their oven. As opposed to phillips which tried to create a god awful hybrid system.
Apple is not a god company they do have one of the best marketing business out there and it is good to see them revived after the 90's but their presence in any market does not guarentee success.
