Erm, no it isn't... not yet.

And even when it gets there it won't recoup what it has lost.

 

 

They still lose money on the PS3 HW but are making money on the PS3 overall (because of games, PSN and acessories), Yoshida said so.

That was proved wrong in the thread it was mentioned in.

It was obvious he wasn't talking about PS3 games alone, because they only made $50million profit in the last quarter, and that includes PS2 sw+hw and PSP sw+hw, which are both all profitable.

What he meant was, overall the PS division is losing money on hardware (so PS2+PSP profit is less than PS3 loss) but they make more money overall for software than the lose for hardware.

IF the PS3 alone was profitable, say by just $1..... then that means the PS2 + PSP make less than $50 million between them.... which you should find incredibly odd considering the PS2 alone (before PSP launch) made close to $1 billion
