I don't see how people are surprised that he critics his own game. It should be done more often, in my audition for a small time symphony one of the winning auditioners actually records his auditions. After a studio recital I realized the mistakes in my playing, and I'm ashamed about them. It's only through knowing and accepting mistakes can a person evolve and become better at what they do.
