This is exactly what I hate about Obama. He talks about change and how McCain uses the same old politics but yet he is using the same old politics too.

Hypocrisy is a huge pet peeve for me. However I still think he is what the Country needs more than McCain.

Seems we are on the same page. I do not think McCain is the best choice for Pres... But it looks like there is no alternative.

Are you guys for real?  I think Obama needs to get even more nasty if he wants to win.  The republicans have run some of the most disgraceful campaigns under Karl Rove and now McCain is following the same path.

Negative campaigns only exist because they work.  This is extremely sad and pathetic, but people keep falling for it.

Republicans have learned a few neat things, primarily:

1.) The bigger the lie, the more people are willing to accept it.  Most people will see through small lies - after all, we all commit small lies on a regular basis, whether "little white lies" or otherwise.  People can't fathom the truly large and disgusting lies, lies that they themselves would never commit.  It's easier to accept the perception that a greater lie is the truth than it would be to accept that even a politican would commit a lie so large.

2.) If you repeat a lie, over and over again, there are a certain percentage of people who will believe it no matter what.  The other, larger percentage of people, will generally dismiss it as "politicians being politicians", and unless the lie/attack is so disgraceful and so severely debunked on a widespread basis, it will not negatively effect their opinion.  The small percentage of people that accepted the lie are lost to the opposition for good.

I would have never believed year 2000 McCain would do this :(  Back when the straight talk express really was straight talk

I like how you ignore Obama doing the same things.  It's funny really.

It's all happening because Obama turned down McCain's plan for 10 debates on the issues... because Obama doesn't like debates and answering unexpected questions.

He would rather things be set up like the Lincoln Douglas debates which were really just long speaches where you primarily insulted the other candidate.

When you're meeting a guy 2-3 times a month for a debate you really can't say stuff about him in adds.

At this rate I expect Obama to run out the clock or have a token debate.  We really don't have much time left.

The 10 debate plan was the best one.

I like how you ignore that in this very same thread, I accused the Obama camp of distortions, and then you accuse me of ignoring what the Obama administration does.  It's pretty frickin hilarious.  If you can show me ONE instance where the Obama campaign has done anything remotely as sleazy as this newest unbelievable incident, this "kindergartner sex ed fiasco", I will eat crow.  But you can't, because it doesn't exist. Saying that McCain wants to be in Iraq for 100 years is a distortion.  Saying that Obama is trying to teach Kindergartners about sex and sexual relationships + the explicit imagery required is a total fabrication.

What's also funny is how you step into these threads to bash Obama and always ignore whatever McCain is doing.  The first thing you did when you entered this thread was equate Obama to Bush Republicans... you totally ignored the crap that Bigjon was spewing, because I guess you were ok with it.

When I have kids, I sure as hell hope that their teachers will help reinforce the concept of "stranger danger" at school.  They'll probably be too afraid of the RR PTA moms to do it though.

And what you're doing right now about Obama turning down 10 debates?  That's a distortion right there.  Just because Obama wanted Lincoln Douglas style debates and McCain asked for town hall style forums, you're going to go out and say Obama doesn't like debates?  Wow.  And then you took the Lincoln Douglas debate format and simplified it to "you primarily insult the other candidate".  Great work.  Begin slow clap.
