If standalone BluRay players hit $150 or even $175, any notion I ever had of buying a PS3 as a BluRay player would be gone.  Especially if Firefly and Serenity came out on BluRay.  Maybe they already have, I don't know.  Serenity in HD is pretty amazing.

I think that is not entirely improbable.  If the Funai unit can hit $200.00 now in August I don't see why it would not be $150.00 by then especially with the name brand machine now are around $300.00 and those are not even profile 2.0 machine.  Firefly and Serenety I think are coming out next month. 

I was seriously consider a 2nd PS3 as blu-ray but my wife already complain as is about having so many game system in the house plus she dont' want to fiddle with PS3 XMB.  So in the end with Funai player I save $200.00, got a nice functional blu-ray player for my 2nd HD TV so wife can watch movie we got from netflix (blu-ray) on that and kid and me can play on 360.
