Only 1,000?
Pretty much, every conservative politician in the western world has protesters follow them around. These protesters are made up (mostly) of the children of upper-middle class or wealthy people, who are angry for no real reason, and seem to blame all of the worlds problems on conservative politicians and corporations. It isn't that uncommon for the primere of Alberta to have hundreds of protesters and he is not nearly as well known (or important) as the potential VP.
