No blu-ray is not going to be dead in 2012. Although it could be on blu-ray 2.0 or something which would mean the popular format would be a blu-ray disc that holds 100 gig instead of 50. The disc format as a whole is really the best format for holding large amounts of data. Harddrives even though they are getting larger in size...they still only hold a finite amount of data ensuring that you always have to buy new ones which cost much more than a package of dual-sided discs. flashcards and the like that hold 50 gigs also cost hundreds of dollars compared to a blu-ray disc which costs less than $20.00. And digital distribution is just much too slow. It takes eight hours to download a 1.7 gig file at 512k and doing so puts a lot of strain and wear on your system as well.

My most anticipated games:  Whatever Hideo Kojima is going to do next, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake, Wii Sports Resort.  Cave Story Wiiware.
