Why is it that people are so keen to try to force their opinions onto others? These casual games are selling and giving some people a lot of fun, why do you want to take that away from people?

Don't like a game? Don't play it. Problem solved.

The problem occurrs when you don't like any games because the "new" and "casual" gamers are practically the only ones being catered to. If you have played games as long as some people in here have and start looking at the decripit state in which the industry will be if this continues then you should be a little ticket off imo. I know I am.

With high budget titles counting perhaps 10% (hardcore titles if you will) of the library in the future (possibly, hypothetically) and take into consideration that only a fraction of high budget titles are actually any good, that leaves you/us with very, very, very few games worth playing indeed. Of course, the industry will do what they can to make the most money possible which is understandable and only suitable after all, but by doing so they will slowly move away from crowds like us, tossing us scraps now and then and we'll be out of a hobby (don't say it is not a big deal, we're gamers, that's why we're here after all).

And that, ladies and gentelmen, is why I do not approve of Nintendo's strategy, because it does not benefit me in the long run when they see that feeble casuals are worth more than me in bucks and dollars. Blue Ocean is fine, but not if you forget the shoreline you sailed from.

PS: d21lewis rules.

PSPS: I'll get flamed but I don't give a shit, at least I got balls to speak against the crowd.

Now that's a very honest and respectable position and I don't think you should be faulted for that - even if you're being a little selfish.   But for me the reverse is true.  I was never interested in console gaming until the Wii came out.  Before that the last game I bought (for myself) was on a Colecovision.   I'm happy to see the narrow spectrum of games widening out so that there's something for everyone to play.   I'm also happy to see girls & women becoming a force to be recgoned with in the industry.   It's about time video games stopped being (perceived as) a nerdy kid the their moms basement thing and became a true mainstream entertainment medium.
