1/HGS5 have sold well for the 1st week even if this is under ur expectation
2/HGS5 is a japan targeted product that always do better in Japan than others.
3/ GT is a WORLDWIDE LICENSE. One of the bigger since it helped a lot the PSX in europe. It is also a good license in japan.
All the first GT/console make good score because of the graphical upgrade when they it the "last gen sony console"
On PSX GT> GT2
On PS2 GT3> GT4
4/ "GT5 prologue", or "GT5" have already shown to us beautifful realistic graphism in the car modelisation (better than PGR4) that is a very important point for GT fan. I believe GT5 will be the 1st system seller of the PS3 (it depends when it will be released in fact).
He will do a lot better than HGS5. A lot.
5/ Since GT5 prologue is not a full game, an important factor will be the price of the game. If the game cost 60$ people will not buy it, waiting for GT5. If the game is not too expensive (30$?40$?), it will sell like hot cake.
6/ GT5 : 1st week japan+NA+PAL > 1000k.
