But you are forgetting that plans change really fast whenever the Wii is involved. In mid 2006 Capcom planned to have only a single game for the Wii, a Resident Evil spinoff. In early 2007 they decided to make an enhanced port of RE4 and another game (Zack & Wiki). Half a year later they announced that Monster Hunter 3 is going to be Wii exclusive and decided to port Okami to the Wii and announced a Golf game. In mid 2008 Capcom makes more announcements. Another port, this time from a 360 game (Dead Rising), a new exclusive (Spyborgs), Mega Man 9 has the Wii as the lead platform, ported over to the HD consoles. You see, Capcom's plans for the Wii are ever changing and they do so every six months or so. Everytime they increased support because the Wii kept selling. |
So it likely means Wii gets a couple exclusives out of this. Wii domination in year who-gives-a-shit-'cause-I'm-not-a-fanboy!
BTW, they didn't say anything about the DS or PSP either. Are they dropping support for those either? Hell no. They have a bunch of profitable series for the DS (Mega Man Star Force and Ace Attorney), they have a blockbuster with Monster Hunter on the PSP, and they have bestselling Zombie games for the Wii (fingers crossed for Dead Rising).
Capcom is supporting all systems, because of M4: Multiplatform Means More Money.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
