While I do agree with you that there likely won't be a price cut this year, I'd have to argue with your reasoning.

Top Sony exec's wouldn't 'spill the beans' if you will at this point in time if a price cut was planned.  If they plan to price cut 2 months from now, they wouldn't want the word out now.  You should know that you can't trust what anyone in the industry says in terms of marketing strategy..

I think if MS pricecut has long legs in terms of sale then Sony will drop the price before christmas but if MS price cut only boosts it for a shor period of time then I don´t think they will cut the price this year.
