I'm not saying what Sony or any other company should do, I'm saying what the business model is doing naturally. Sony is getting exclusives, first/second party exclusives like Motorstorm, Genji, and Resistance. But other than an extreme few, most of their games are in fact multiplatform titles.
the facts don't lie:
Tiger Woods
Madden
NFS
Marvel Ultimate Allience
COD
Fight Night
Def Jam: Icon
Godfather
mlb 2k7
FEAR
Oblivion
Sonic
TH: Project 8
I can go on and on, more than 90% of the games from 3rd parties early on will be multiplatform. Even ones that aren't will either eventually release on other systems like VF 5, or are basically a repackaged version of another game like RR 7 is to RR6 on the 360. Other then these titles you'll only get a few small titles that will only release on one system simply because the studio doesn't have the man power to release multiple versions. What can Sony possibly offer third parties that would keep them away from releasing on another system with 5 times the userbase? Nothing, at least nothing that would still allow them to profit from the deal. So your not going to see big 3rd party exclusives until late next year when the consoles userbases warrant it.
