In the Spore Tribal stage, what can you do with pets?

 Yeah, if you bring a wild animal 15 food (if it doesn't hate you), it becomes your pet.  I figured out what it does normally (I didn't have the Beastmaster ability)

It has a little corrale at your base, and there's a little trough that fills up with eggs now and then.  It's basically free food that respawns pretty quickly.

Also if you have any animals in your tribe at the end of creature phase they start off as pets.
