That's an effect of pricing....the cut is out NOW, and by the end of the month its effect won't be as strong, that's pretty standard for price cuts actually.
I've seen sales doubled the week after the PS3's price cuts, next week it will be 80% of that, the next week 85% ofthat, and it will eventually stabilize at a somewhat higher point than before, again b/c of the price cut.
Pachter himself has said that this would increase 360 sales by 20%.....I am somewhat more generous w/ perhaps 25% LT but I also don't think that this cut will really be enough for MS.

Except that as you move closer to Christmas console sales tend to increase week on week. Also the numbers for the Xbox 360 put the sales at 65k after the price cut. Thats less than the usal sales of the Xbox 360 when it hasn't had a price cut!
