People still expect Nintendo to just go in a straight line from where they are (Wii 2, better graphics) but I think Nintendo might be planning even more innovation down the road, so that Sony and Microsoft are STILL playing catchup.
It took 5 years for Microsoft to make an Ipod clone, and then Apple came out with the Iphone. It will take 5 years for Sony/Microsoft to come up with a Wii clone, and by then Nintendo will come out with the ______ (insert amazing, innovative gaming system here).

It is almost like Microsoft/Sony can't possibly release an affordable console, because then it wouldn't be STATE-OF-THE-ART (lol). They MUST release the most bleeding-edge console possible, otherwise their fans will whine. "Oh my god 360 only has 4 teraflops! PS3 has like, 4.2. GOSH! WE NEED MORE TERAFLOPS TO HAVE A FUN GAME."
