I personally believe that (when it comes to Global Warming) more and more Canadians are waking up to the realization that if Canada stopped producing any CO2 tomorow, by this time next year growth in CO2 emissions in other countries would exceed what we eliminated. Now, in an ecconomic climate where jobs are alreading being outsourced, most Canadians do not want to add unnecessary costs to producing goods (or delivering services) in Canada for a meaningless, symbolic, gesture ...

Now, this doesn't mean that Canadians aren't interested in making a difference, but it does mean that they want the objectives to be reasonable and the time line to be long enough that it can be done with minimal ecconomic fallout; which is (essentially) the Conservative's approach.
