Sarah Palin was picked for a few reasons. One to help have someone younger to get more swing from that young voting crowd. Secondly to further the separation in the democrats by having a woman in there. She may be nothing by Hilary but jsut seeing a woman next to him running is enough to put some of the uninformed voters over there. Thirdly seh has the appeal of "i'm just one of you guys" kinda thing which is popular these days. Finally she is seen as someone with little political scathing mean she is not deep into the system which many consider is the best the country needs. The entire pick was more than likely completely strategic and has nothing to do with her personality, views, ect which the media would love you to believe.
I personally don't have any issues with her aside from her wanting to drill for oil on wildlife conservations in Alaska when she knows very well that any of this oil will do nothing to help make us self sufficient or drop the price of gas. It's just taking away land from creatures that have none left and that's wrong.
