Xbox 360 sales increase post price cut
Sales for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 increased on Fri. at Amazon.com, the first day of a new price cut for the video game hardware. The Xbox 360 Arcade SKU held 1,712 percent increase in sales to rank at No. 25 in Amazon's Video Games division. The Pro SKU held a 504 percent sales increase to rank at No. 23. Lastly, the Elite SKU held a 231 percent increase in sales to rank at No. 64. Microsoft this week announced that it will price cut all Xbox 360 hardware in the U.S. Beginning Sept. 5, the Xbox 360 Arcade SKU will sell for $199, the Pro SKU at $299, and the Elite SKU at $399. The company will reportedly discount Xbox 360 prices in Japan between 5,000 and 8,000 yen per model in Oct.
