Is it just me or are there only two types of first-person shooters.

1. Those where you have to shoot unnatural beings. Most of the time these are space aliens but they can also be monsters, the undead, or genetically modified creatures.

2. Those where you have to shoot enemey soldiers. Most of teh time they are Nazis but they can also be any other major foe the United States has faced in a war in the last quarter millienum.

This began with Doom and Castle Wolfenstien -- and it never seems to have changed.

I fully realize that this is a over simplification. But still, it is more the rule than the exception.

So what are some exceptions. I will start things off with Noah's Arc 3-D for SNES. There you shoot misbehaving animals aboard the ark with hay to get them to take a nap.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
