If you already use your Xbox as a DVD player, then $30 is negligible if you're interested in picking up some HD-DVDs before they disappear. Particularly if you want the remote (which presumably means you do use your Xbox to watch DVDs).

I have one, but I only use it to watch HD-DVDs (out of necessity since it's my only HD-DVD player) since the 360 really is too noisy for movie watching at normal volume levels.

Also, you'll need to use an HDMI cable if you want a 1080p signal, assuming you're using a 1080p display. Otherwise the signal (for HD-DVDs) is reverted to a 1080i signal (yes, some people can tell the difference).

Without the HDMI connection, standard DVDs will only output at 480p.

So get a HDMI cable if aren't already using one.
