Agreed... but I think unfortunatly you can´t make movies like that anymore, if hollywood producers invest millions into a movie even a master like Scorcese is forced to make something with a wider appeal... unfortunatly I only know about a handfull of people who really understood movies like Taxi Driver... then again its allmost impossible to find people who know Werner Herzog or have seen classics like Dr. Strangelove, Citizen Cane or Treasure of the Sierra Madre...
Aviator was good... Departed was better though...
