I only hit girls in the ring, during boxingmatches. Still, I hold back then.

I read a newspaper article, locally a few days ago though. Couple of teenagers on a bus, a brother and sister, and three girls. When the three started picking on the sister, the brother intervened. The girls started to slap him... and in turn after a few hits he broke one of the other girls noses.
The police then proceeded to arrest the two remaining girls, the one with the broken nose was led to the hospital and arrested after recieving treatment, the brother and sister could still file a complaint.

So yeah, you can get away with hitting a girl.
