Fanboys of competing products are always willing to share talking points about a third product. Its not a conspiracy, its just that both are always looking for ways to trash things they don't like.
Just look at these boards this gen and you'll see what I mean. Xbox and Wii fans have pretty similar things to say when trashing the PS3; Wii and PS3 fans have plenty in common when putting down the 360; and, of course, 360 and PS3 fans use the same insults against the Wii.
Sure, as a fan of a something it can feel like the world's against you a lot of time, but really its just that every fan group is out to trash every other one.
