I finally figured that out it is most definitely not the type of puzzle I have actually seen before. Which is a good thing I suppose. For reference to anybody that is stuck on this puzzle it is the Penguin command through Rico. You use the attack on them, and then make sure to examine the door when the animal is close. The door does the rest. The only other advice I have is keep the snake close the spell will wear off a few times while your pulling it to the door, and since it wants to go around a corner Rico cannot get a clean shot off.
