I've never really been a fan of review scores. I think the best way I've seen any reviewing done was old school Siskel and Ebert reviewing movies. I would like to see something like that for games where 2-3 intelligent people sit down, not taking cheap shots at a game but instead talk about the pros and cons and in the end give it a "thumbs up" (recommended) or "thumbs down" (recommend avoiding).

People get so crazy over scores, like the 8.8 Legend of Zelda score from launch. If it had just been Gerstman and 1 or 2 other guys talking about it and in the end giving thumbs (sounds like he would have given it a thumbs up anyway) there wouldn't have been so much venom spewed over that (or most any other) review.

I think we might be at the point where the video game industry has outpaced its journalists, sort of like how we all grew up and realized that TV show GamePro outlasted its welcome.
