I don't think so, VGChartz members all seem to be interested in games and game consoles. To like certain games and prefer certain consoles and companies more so than others seems perfectly normal to me, just like preferring a Mercedes or a Ferrari, it can also be fun to make predictions and provide arguments with regard to sales potential, such can be looked at as a game or competition by itself.
IMO what distinguishes a true console fanboy is unreasonable behavior, like being angry because of the price of a console (sometime a console the person states not to be interested in even). As if someone who owns a Mazda should be upset about the price of a Mercedes (nobody is holding a gun to his face to buy a Mercedes...).
Being unhappy about the quality of a product (failures beyond industry standards) is a far more suitable argument to be dissatisfied about. Doesn't matter if it's a failure prone television, dish washer or washing machine. IMO a fanboy can be distinguished by unreasonable behaviour like becoming upset if someone criticizes his or her's console of choice for issues like this.
IMO the most obvious case of fanboyism is when someone becomes impolite or resorts to name calling when talking about something like game consoles or games.
