That's just pure bull. The Republicans ended slavery for God's sake! The republican party championed civil rights from the beginning, it was the democrat party that stood in the way of that! (granted, there were some republicans that did too, but more republicans than democrats supported Civil Rights) I know several black republicans personally. The Republican party was the first to welcome blacks into leadership positions.
Just because most of the African American population is democrat does not mean that somehow the Republican party is exclusive. What you stated is pure BS.

Come on dude, lighten up. And comparing the Republican party then to the Republican party now is just incorrect. You are acting like the whole civil rights thing never happened. The democrats were the southern party until LBJ and other dems spearheaded the Civil Rights movement. Its very ironic to me that the party who freed the slaves was the same party who resisted giving minorities equal rights, but that is only because the party had fundamentally changed.

Sorry, I actually got called a racist the other day when somebody found out I was voting republican. I just hate that stereotype and I think it is generally incorrect. I'm not saying the Republicans are the same party they were before, but they're not as exclusive or even racist as some would make them out to be.
